Pocej says that the idea behind this photo series came to him in a dream. He made photographing women during their most intense orgasms, his personal challenge.
According to him, finding the models was the most difficult part.
Two Kinds Of People
Many of the models that agreed to be photographed ended up feeling self conscious and shy. For that reason, Pocej was left with only 15 final images that he was happy with.
It’s important to note that all models in the images are experiencing real orgasms.
For the best effect, Pojec sometimes made use of the time lapse function. This allowed him to capture one image a second, even when he was not around. This made the models feel more comfortable.
The main objective of the series was to photograph authentic women who were not acting. The physical experience was captured in the most real way possible.
Pocej also wanted to bring light to the fact that every woman is different. For that reason, their facial expressions, actions and surroundings differ from photo to photo.
He actively avoided creating images that looked ordinary and cliché. He says, “I wanted to make those looking at these pictures to think. And clichés don’t make people think.”
Raw And Natural
Pocej’s work often favors minimalism and geometric symmetry. He draws his inspiration from people’s raw and natural emotions.
Pocej currently lives in Monaco, where billboards displaying his art can be found in the landmarks of Principality of Monaco.
